Case 1:Performance
Testing of Web Enabled on-line Mission Critical Application
Requirement:One of the largest insurance
company in USA wanted to ensure that their system developed in web
enabled environment Java-DB2-IMS-CICS,IBM Websphere, SNA Gateway Server,
with LAN,WAN, Dial-In, Win NT, Win 98/95 configurations are capable
of handling more than 1000 Users load and 250 Concurrent Users load
without degrading the application's end to end and back end response
times.
Critical Issue:The application's architecture,
development environment is new to the company and the IS team. This
is an on-line application used by more than 1000 users, and sucess
of this line of business depends on user 's satisfaction on application's
reliability, performance, and response time of front end screens.
Solution provided by Gantec:Our
Software Quality Assurance team provided consulting in Test methodology
documentation, develop and debug GUI and Virtual users scripts, and
execute scripts using Performance Testing tools, results analysis,recommendations
and documentation.
Benefits of Testing:Identified
a program design flaw in Gateway server at increased user loads. The
program has been changed and re-tested to ensure that the corrected
programs works good. Our team also identified and isolated the transactions
which have poor response time under different user load. Exposed the
application for identification of different programming/defects due
to increased users load. Identified architectural and environmental
issues at different users load.
Result:Today the application runs more
stable under different users load. The testing has helped the management
to identify and fix the issues beforehand.
Case2: System Testing
of Web Enabled Application Client's
Requirement:Functional, Regression,
Integration, Stress/Load testing for an on-line web enabled application
developed for an Insurance Company in Midwest.
Solution provided by Gantec:Our
Software Quality Assurance team has helped the application team to
develop the test plan, write test cases, form test strategy, develop
automated test scripts using automated test tools, execute the test,
defect tracking, and analyze the test results.
Benefits of Testing:The application
defects and performance issues were identified at right time. Changes
